Our client in Italy, a well known international hotel chain, is seeking for an experienced Regional Director of Sales who will be responsible for the implementation of agreed strategic and tactical sales direction for Italy and for enhancement of revenue in all hotel departments and sales offices to increase market share.

JOB DESCRIPTION

In the position of Regional Director of Sales you are responsible for the implementation of strategic and tactical sales direction for assigned region to increase market share. Your responsibilities to the hotels are the following:

  • evaluate the sales situation of each assigned hotel, together with its strengths and weaknesses, market segment potential and competitors;
  • develop and implement challenging but realistic sales action plans for each hotel;
  • prepare annual sales plans and budgets to achieve goals and control marketing costs;
  • concurate in the pricing and rate structures of all products and services in order to optimise current and longer term market share, revenue per available room and overall profit;
  • being involved in the recruitment, selection, hiring, career development of all sales personnel;
  • evaluate performance, establish targets and sign off on compensation decisions at hotels;
  • identify training needs and have appropriate programmes conducted in the region;
  • maintain and develop contacts with major customers in order to support and assess sales effectiveness of hotels (and offices) in the region;
  • foresee every hotel with a revenue proposal document which is relevant to that property;
  • represent each hotel’s interests; to motivate, coach and counsel hotel sales teams.
JOB CRITERIA

Our client expects the Regional Director of Sales to have:

  • an extensive background in hotel sales (internationally)
  • preferably within an international organisation as Director of Sales
  • preferably with multiple property responsibility
  • strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills and a drive for results;
  • excellent English and Italian language skills.
