Choice Hotels International began in 1939 as Quality Courts United, a small referral network of motel owners in Florida formed to maintain consistent quality standards. The company grew steadily through the following decades, changing its name to Choice Hotels International in 1990 to reflect its expanding portfolio of brands.

A global franchise network

Headquartered in North Bethesda, Maryland, and publicly traded since 1996, Choice Hotels now franchises close to 7,600 hotels across more than 40 countries and territories. Its portfolio spans brands from economy to upscale, including Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Clarion, Cambria Hotels and Country Inn & Suites.

Radisson in the Americas

Choice Hotels also holds the Radisson family of brands across the Americas, including Radisson Blu, Radisson Collection and Radisson Individuals, bringing an internationally recognised name into its portfolio alongside its long-standing economy and midscale brands.
