RCN Recreatieparken

RCN Vakantieparken was founded in 1952 on the initiative of the Institute for Church and World of the Dutch Reformed Church, with the aim of creating an affordable, modern recreation centre for the lower middle class and skilled workers. The first location, Het Grote Bos on the Hydepark estate in Doorn, remains part of the RCN network today.

Nature-based holiday parks

RCN expanded steadily across the Netherlands in the decades that followed, before opening its first campsite in France in 1999 and entering the German market in 2020. The company today operates 18 parks across the Netherlands, France and Germany, each built around forests, lakes or coastal landscapes.

A social mission

RCN's guiding principle has remained consistent for over seven decades: a holiday should be good for the guest, good for the people around them and good for nature. All profits are reinvested in social projects, meaning every booking helps fund recreation for others.
