Rosewood Hotels & Resorts

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts began in 1979, when a historic mansion in Dallas, Texas was transformed into The Mansion on Turtle Creek by Caroline Rose Hunt, daughter of oil magnate H. L. Hunt. Its success established the blueprint for every Rosewood property to follow: a distinctive, residential style luxury hotel shaped by the history, culture and geography of its location.
A Sense of Place
Every Rosewood property embraces the brand's A Sense of Place philosophy, ensuring no two hotels feel alike. The collection includes some of the world's most storied addresses, from The Carlyle in New York to Hôtel de Crillon in Paris, alongside newer icons such as Rosewood Hong Kong and the recently opened Chancery Rosewood in London's Mayfair.
A collection built on craftsmanship
Rosewood's guiding philosophy extends beyond design into genuine cultural connection. Recent initiatives reflecting this approach include:
- Rosewood PlaceMakers, a network championing local culture and kinship in each destination
- Discovered at Rosewood, a campaign celebrating culture and craftsmanship across the collection
- Rosewood Residences, extending the brand's Enriched Living philosophy to ownership and rental
- Continued global expansion, with numerous new properties under development
A global luxury collection
Rosewood today operates dozens of hotels, resorts and residences across more than twenty countries, under the ownership of Hong Kong based Rosewood Hotel Group. The brand continues to expand while maintaining the intimate, individual character that has defined it since 1979.
Culture
- A Sense of Place: every property reflects the individual history, culture and sensibilities of its destination
- Cultural authenticity: deep local connections rather than a standardised luxury formula
- Craftsmanship and community: partnering with local artisans and communities through initiatives such as Rosewood PlaceMakers
- Enriched Living: a philosophy carried through to Rosewood Residences as well as hotels
