Radisson traces its name to Pierre-Esprit Radisson, the French explorer, with the first Radisson hotel opening in Minneapolis in the early twentieth century. The brand expanded internationally from the 1990s onward, including a landmark 1994 franchise agreement that brought Radisson to Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

A global family of brands

Radisson today encompasses a family of hotel brands spanning multiple market segments, including Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Radisson Individuals, Park Plaza and Park Inn by Radisson. The Radisson name is one of the most widely recognised in international hospitality, with hotels across dozens of countries.

A global footprint under different ownership

Following a series of corporate transactions, the Radisson brands are today operated by different owners in different regions, with Radisson Hotel Group, headquartered in Brussels, overseeing the brand across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.
